Pasifika at Mahora
Talofa lava, Malo e Lelei, Kia Orana, Bula Vinaka!
At Mahora School, we believe in celebrating all cultures of our tamaiti. Our Pasifika tutors work hard to ensure our Pasifika tamaiti are able to express themselves through siva (dance), pese (song) and other cultural activities. We are lucky to have amazing aiga (whanau) who help to provide our Whanake Pasifika group and whole aoga (kura) with experiences that showcase the vibe of the Pacific.
We have celebrated Samoan, Cook Island and Tongan Language Weeks and we look forward to continuing building on these experiences and celebrating more of our Pasifika cultures. We enjoy hearing our Pasifika languages spoken throughout the aoga and seeing our tamaiti embrace our culture by performing in our Whanake Pasifika group and taking up challenges during our Pasifika language weeks. Piki Haere Mahora aiga!!! Checkout these amazing tamaiti showing lotolahi (bravery) in sharing their language with us.
Keep an eye out on our Facebook page and school app for upcoming Pasifika events!
